AEC Cares Selects its 2014 Community Service Project- projectChicago!

By Tara Godfrey

AEC cares has joined forces with Metropolitan Family Services to renovate a tired, worn former public school, Libby Elementary. Can you imagine what 30 years of constant, harsh usage by hundreds of small children can do to a building? It isn’t pretty.

On June 25, 2014 over 150 amazing, hardworking and talented volunteers from the construction industry will descend upon the former public school on Chicago’s South Side for some  much needed TLC. During projectChicago, we will spend the entire day (and numerous preparation days leading up to the event), gutting, painting, cleaning, installing and improving  the former school to make it a nicer, cleaner, brighter and more inviting environment for over 100 underprivileged small children, ages 6 weeks to 5 years old, who spend their day learning and growing within these walls.
